Q&A
How do we know you're legit?
The RD behind my name means I'm a Registered Dietitian (lots and lots of chemistry, food science classes, nutrition sciences, anatomy & physiology, PLUS a year-long dietetic internship - mine was at Vanderbilt, finished off with a big ol' test to prove I know my stuff).

- I am also licensed as Medical Nutrition Therapist (the LMNT in my name) in the state of Nebraska, which shows I yearly keep up on the latest science to maintain my credentials.

- Additionally, I have training in digestive health (living with Celiac disease myself!), women’s health - specifically hormone balance, fertility, cycle health, pregnancy and postpartum nutrition. Not to forget, I worked for 3+ years in pediatric nutrition, so if your baby/children need nutrition help too - I'm your gal!
Do you take insurance?
Unfortunately, I do not bill insurance directly, however I can provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt for services performed for you to submit to your insurance carriers) that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
You can ask your insurance company if your plan covers nutrition services and also inquire about some of the nutritional testing. You may be eligible for reimbursement.
What forms of payment does Nourished for Life take?
All major credit cards, debit cards
HSA / FSA cards
Paypal & Venmo
Contact me if you have questions about using these or any other forms of payment!
Why don't you take insurance?
Most topics we’ll cover related to preconception, fertility, pregnancy & postpartum fall under prevention and wellness medicine which is not covered by most insurance.
I help to in preventing more invasive fertility and pregnancy treatments as well as postpartum interventions by use of lifestyle factors - overall saving you time and money.
Because we won’t be using surgery or drugs, many insurance companies don’t see the value in it for them financially - making it difficult to bill your insurance and get both of us properly reimbursed
I bring you virtual care so you don’t have to leave the comforts of your home or office. Insurance currently does not reimburse well for virtual medical nutrition therapy.
